Where culture lives, stories unfold

Documenting culture, community, and the people behind what we love
Driven by editorial storytelling and human connection.

People carry their stories in how they move through the world.

My work lives at the intersection of documentary and editorial, drawn to culture, identity, and human connection. I photograph people in motion and in stillness, catching reality as it moves through them.

As a Latina photographer, I am drawn to what feels familiar. The rhythm, resilience, and quiet pride woven into everyday life. Inspired by immigrant families and the worlds they build, I look for the stories carried in a glance, a gesture, the weight of worn hands. Each image holds beauty and hardship together, the way life so often does.

I’m Patty Zavala, a Mexican-born photographer based in the Pacific Northwest, with over a decade of experience moving between editorial and commercial photography. My work has taken me from New York Fashion Week to gallery exhibitions across the United States and Mexico, with publications and campaigns along the way.

I am drawn to people, to the stories they carry and the way those stories surface in a single frame. My approach is cinematic and grounded, equally at home in a fashion studio and on the street, always drawn to the moments most people walk past.
